Pramono Invites Media to Become Strategic Partners to Build Jakarta

Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, held a social gathering with the media crew that usually covers the Jakarta City Hall (Balkoters). The gathering took place at Suropati Park, Menteng, Central Jakarta on Wednesday (4/23).

On that occasion, he invited journalists to become strategic partners in building Jakarta over the next five years.

"Specifically, today I would like to use this forum to ask you to be my eyes, ears, and critic," he expressed.

He explained criticism from journalists is valuable input for the Jakarta Government in realizing better development for Jakarta.

"I won't be angry no matter how harsh your criticism is. I believe a leader will improve if they are not allergic to criticism. For me, criticism is like vitamins," he explained.

He asserted, the media plays an important role as the eyes and ears of local government in capturing various issues within the community.

"So, I want all of you to be my eyes and ears to capture and see the issues that exist in Jakarta," he explained.

He also acknowledged that Jakarta has complex issues. Not all problems couls be directly monitored by him, so the role of the media is very important in providing accurate and critical information.

"Things like this enrich me. If I don't know, then I'll say I don't know and I don't want to act like I know. So, I answer honestly," he said.
